SEQUENCE WHEN COMPLETING YOUR CATALOGUE

At the start of every lesson…

  • Open your InDesign Document (your catalogue)
    If you have problems, throw away caches (User Folder > Library > Caches)

  • Open FileMaker Pro
    If you have problems, throw away filemaker preferences (User Folder > Library > Preferences > Filemaker preferences)

 

THE TITLE PAGE

  • Create the title page (Make sure you inlcude a title, the Trailblaze logo, and a strong image)

  • Paste a draft into FileMaker Pro

  • Print the title page

  • Annotate the title page (√ - for things that are right; x - and comments for things that are wrong and need changing)

  • Make changes to the final page

  • Paste the finished page into FileMaker Pro

  • Print the final page

THE TENTS PAGE

  • Create the TENTS page (Make sure you include a title, pictures of tents, prices of tents, catalogue number of tents, description of tents)

  • Paste a draft into FileMaker Pro

  • Print the TENTS page

  • Annotate the TENTS page (√ - for things that are right; x - and comments for things that are wrong and need changing)

  • Make changes to the TENTS page

  • Paste the finished TENTS page into FileMaker Pro

  • Print the final TENTS page

 

THE SLEEPING BAGS PAGE

  • Create the SLEEPING BAGS page (Make sure you include a title, pictures of sleeping bags, prices of sleeping bags, catalogue number of sleeping bags, description of sleping bags)

  • Paste a draft into FileMaker Pro

  • Print the SLEEPING BAGS page

  • Annotate the SLEEPING BAGS page (√ - for things that are right; x - and comments for things that are wrong and need changing)

  • Make changes to the SLEEPING BAGS page

  • Paste the finished SLEEPING BAGS page into FileMaker Pro

  • Create the BACK page (Make sure you include a LOCATION MAP, ORDER FORM, GRAPH OF TEMPERATURE THROUGH THE YEAR)

  • Paste a draft into FileMaker Pro

  • Print the BACK PAGE page

  • Annotate the BACK PAGE page (√ - for things that are right; x - and comments for things that are wrong and need changing)

  • Make changes to the BACK PAGE page

  • Paste the finished BACK PAGE page into FileMaker Pro

  • Print the final BACK PAGE page

EXTRA STUFF - TO GET YOU HIGHER MARKS

Make use of AUTOMATIC page numbers

  • Use Automatic page numbers on the TENTS, SLEEPING BAG and BACK PAGES
    • (Draw a text box where you wan the page number with the "T" tool > Go to Type > Insert Special Character > Markers > Current Page Number)

Make sure you get credit for this by pasting a screenshot into FileMaker

 

Make use of the AUTOMATIC TEXT VARIRABLES to insert some text

  • Use Automatic text variable on the TENTS, SLEEPING BAG and BACK PAGES to insert the FILENAME
    • (Draw a text box where you want the DOCUMENT NAME to appear with the "T" tool > Go to Type > Text Variable > Insert Variable > Filename)

  • Use Automatic text variable on the TENTS, SLEEPING BAG and BACK PAGES to insert the DATE
    • (Draw a text box where you want the DOCUMENT NAME to appear with the "T" tool > Go to Type > Text Variable > Insert Variable > Filename)
